Horseback riding along Lake Buenos Aires
La Ascensión Wild Nature Reserve
Dunes, wetlands, calafate bushes and lake.
Duration: 2 hours
Location: La Ascensión Wild Nature Reserve, Patagonia National Park
Difficulty: Easy (suitable for the whole family, from age 3)
An ideal ride for those who want to connect with nature on horseback, no prior experience needed.
We set off from the historic shearing shed to ride through old winter pastures, now reclaimed by wildlife. Guanacos, ripe calafate bushes in summer, and the silence of the valleys accompany you as we cross steppe, native shrubs, and wetlands.
We descend to the shore of the second largest lake in South America: the majestic Lake Buenos Aires, with its turquoise waters and unique views of Cerro Colorado and the impressive Andes mountain range, dominated by Cerro Castillo.
On the way back, we leave the horses and share a snack with mate and artisanal alfajores from “El Galpón,” featuring the unique flavors of Los Antiguos and local fruits.
Includes:
✔️ Expert guides
✔️ Helmets and insurance
✔️ Introductory briefing for beginners
✔️ Mate session with artisanal alfajores
