An ideal ride for those who want to connect with nature on horseback, no prior experience needed.
We set off from the historic shearing shed to ride through old winter pastures, now reclaimed by wildlife. Guanacos, ripe calafate bushes in summer, and the silence of the valleys accompany you as we cross steppe, native shrubs, and wetlands.
We descend to the shore of the second largest lake in South America: the majestic Lake Buenos Aires, with its turquoise waters and unique views of Cerro Colorado and the impressive Andes mountain range, dominated by Cerro Castillo.
Upon our return, we left the horses at the corral and headed to La Cantina, a cozy spot featuring a beautiful fire pit just a few yards from the historic shearing shed. There, we brewed some mate* to unwind, share stories, and relive the legends of the old ranch—all served with delicious tortas fritas* and homemade jams crafted from local fruit grown in Los Antiguos.

* Mate: A traditional South American herbal tea blend served hot in a hollowed gourd and sipped through a metal straw (bombilla), shared socially as a staple ritual of connection.

Cerro La Calle
5 hours – Patagonia National Park
We ride through the steppe, past wild fauna and towering rock walls, all the way to a stunning viewpoint. Includes a packed lunch, a short hike, and moments of pure awe.
